Jamagic?!?

Post by techjunkie »

Does anyone know where Clickteam moved all Jamagic stuff? Not a word about it on their new website - and they refuse to answer any mail about Jamagic!

That's todays product support for you. Get paid and run.

I have a similar situation with one of ULEADs products but they do you reply to your email. Just nothing that had to do with your question. And when you ask them to quit avoiding the question to their buggy software, they get mad. :?

Here in Germany you have to support your products for at least 6 months (warranty).
Isn't there something similar in Sweden?

Hi techjunkie,

I asked myself exactly the same some months ago and was about to
contact you asking you about the current situation since your signature
once said you were using jamagic... ;)

Thank you for the information!! :) That's typical - but I've asked Clickteam for a free version of TGF2 on their forum (Yeah - I also own TGF), so...

but all is really strange, when I last had contact with Clickteam (when they answered my mail) about 6 month ago. They said that Jamagic should continue and they still sold it on their site.

This makes me wonder why should programmers stick to commercial compilers :?

The old Jamagic forums are still available, but they are locked.

Jamagic was dropped. Although the 2D side was great, the 3D side was horrid. There was an official rumor that Jamagic might be reconsidered after MMF2 was released and ported to use the irrichilt (sp?) engine, but I think they have officially decided to cut their losses.

I still use it for some 2D stuff and PocketPC development, and haven't had any issues.

FWIW, Jamagic's demise was announced almost a year in advance, before MMF2 was finally released, and they started the new forums and removed all the Jamagic info. It shouldn't come as a shock to active users.
