fiberoptics :)

Post by thefool »

Hi!

Just got fiberoptics installed. 41 tv channels(hdtv of course), phone AND internet in the package.

The 2/2 mbit line gets download speeds at around 258 kbit/s (the connection scores a bit over 2048 in the online tests i've been taking), compared to my old dsl 2mbit who goes at around 206. The upload speed matches well too :)

Oh, that internet connection is just temporary. I will get either a 5/5 or 10/10 in a few days; just waiting till i have put the cables :)

I guess the reason for the massive speed increase is 0 [or VERY low] noise..

So even though i expected only a minor speed increase, i got a massive 25% increase in download speed, and a 2000%, two thousand percent upload increase.

So with the 5/5 mbit wich is the smallest i get, i will be expecting up and download speeds of 640 kbit/s, wich is quite nice.

I gotta admit, so far the fiberoptics has been working nicely.. Of course, they only serve unlimited bandwith.

91$ for the 5/5mbit, unlimited a month. Compared you pay 72$ for a 2048/512 kb adsl per month (again; compared to the fiberoptic 2/2 the dl speed is loosing 20% on noise).

45$ for the 41 channels and some digital radio signals on top. HD-TV suported, including a small top box where you can browse the internet on your TV, see information about the tv program on all the channels, set reminders and so on.

21$ a month for free calls to stationary telephones and good prices @cellphones.

The prices are rather good :)
The internet price is insanely good compared to before this was coming.

Code: Select all

21$ a month for free calls
And the question is: Are the calls really free if you have to pay 21$ every month for them?
