Capture video from webcam?

Anyone know some code to capture video from a webcamera?
I want to save video to my hardrive, but program that comes with my webcam is made by Microsoft and it sucks like hell, uses 100% CPU and makes laggy video! (damn Microsoft)

Or does anyone know some other programs I can use to capture video from it?
I like logic, hence I dislike humans but love computers.
