Emergence Basic (Brother of IBasic?)

Post by Kale »

In the last few hours Ionic Wind (creators of Aurora) have released a new basic dialect called Emergence Basic.

Apparently it's compatible with IBasic and can run Ibasic's sources without modification! Now Pixia is dead maybe Ibasic users can look here for a supported compiler?

It's currently at v1.4 so it's quite new, but it already has support for advanced features and a planned 3D engine (ported from Aurora) is in the works.

You can read more about it here:
http://www.ionicwind.com/forums/index.p ... 101.0.html
http://www.ionicwind.com/forums/index.p ... ,20.0.html

P.S. This sounds like the big sell, but i stand to gain nothing from any sales of Emergence Basic, i just thought you peeps here would like to know theres a new kid on the block. :)

An IBasic clone from the former IBasic owner ?!
Now IBasic is definitely dead.
For free libraries and tools, visit my web site (also home of jaPBe V3 and PureFORM).

IBasic died a long time ago.

I think it's Paul's way to revive IBasic....

To be honest, Aurora is not that easy for users and IBasic seems to be better.

That's nonsense. Aurora is easy to use if you learn how to use it.

Paul Turley and his endeavours get so much space on these forums he should start paying rent. :D

Mind you, I suppose this is OK if the users who promote Paul and his stuff here are giving equal time to Fred and his stuff on Paul's boards. And Paul lets it stay. :P

Paul sold Ibasic on Ebay to Thomas Hanlin for 50k$, and now it seems he's trying to use the same codebase
again and sell it as a direct competitor?

Hello there... Is this nice ??

Do you have any proof to back up that allegation?

Emergence BASIC's codebase is based off of Aurora (NOT IBasic Pro), with an IBasic Pro "compatible" syntax.

There are many popular BASICs that are 100% syntax compatible with Visual BASIC. Nothing wrong with that and no ethical issues with that.

Now i know you are a partner member, Kale, please correct my statement:

I guess emergence basic is for beginners rather than aurora. I wonder why he makes 2 languages at a time. Isn't it taking his hands too full? Or is he just making an arsenal of tools for beginners & advanced.?

Give us a break, asshole! He sold his old forums on a CD without securing copyright, so what do you expect from him, really?

You are the one making false allegations that you cannot back up and prove, but yet I am the asshole? It must be nice to live in the little world you have created for yourself
