Possible theft

Post by dna »

This is for the owners of PB. I was on the internet with my portable drive and noticed that the drive light was on continuously for a time, and I thought of where I was.

The point being, I think someone has stolen a copy of PB from my portable drive.

There may be nothing that you can do but I can get you the internet address of the terminal that I used and the street address of the people who run the place and are in charge of the equipment, if you need it to protect your property.

Just to let you know.

Good of you to report it. Sadly these things are rarely worth tracking down, but i guess we'll see soon enough

Why do you think that?
There may have been someone snooping around, but that doesn't mean that they found PureBasic or even know what it is.

Here's what you do.
Search the internet for alot of viruses and trojans and crap, fill your portable device up with them, and go back to the place and plug it in. Go for some coffee and relax. Maybe you could add a small program that logs what happens on the drive, and only on the drive ;)

Make sure you completely corrupt all the files, and replace the purebasic with virus's with the purebasic icons.

I'd love to see the looks on their face.

Sounds very sus to me. Why would you immediately assume that?
I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).

Maybe he looked a log through and saw that someone copied his "PureBasic_v4.00_(k23ka89)_incl._keygen.rar"
