Delphi Professional

I don't mind us stopping the discussion about Delphi. But let it be known
that I never use just one language.

I have nothing bad to say about PB, in fact, I've won many arguments
and challenges with others regarding the speed and size of PB apps.

This includes C++, VC++, VB, and a few others.

And I would bet a hefty amount of money that in the areas of bloat and
exe size, that PB surpasses Delphi as well.

I don't see anything wrong with discussing other languages here. We all love Purebasic so there's no problem on that score and it's not as if we're 'flaming' Delphi.

Besides, we all use the right tool for the right job etc, and that is not always Delphi and it is not always Purebasic. I think most people would accept that reality.

You will need to download two files. The prereqs.zip file contains additional run-time files required by Turbo Explorer that may not be currently installed on your computer. This includes the Microsoft.NET 1.1 runtime and SDK, the J# run-time, InternetExplorer 6.01, and MSXML.

Ick! I think I'll pass...

My point wasn't just that I didn't want to develop .NET applications, I also didn't want to install the .NET frameworks or the J# run-times on my system.

Bottom line, for as long as I can avoid it, I have no interest in having anything at all to do with .NET.

Ok, I figured it out.

You can buy just the language you want. This is how you would purchase
just one of the products out of the Studio.

Yes of course! The turbo's are great. Go get the free explorer edition to test the user interface; and the general feeling. They come with a LOT of components, and can be used for whatever you want.

You are quite lucky you didnt get an interest a few weeks ago. The turbo's are just released heh

about devc++; that was my favorite ide until it was not updated for a LONG time. I quit! Take ms Visual C++ isntead; the non express versions still support MFC as far as i recall; and the express versions supports the other stuff.?

Anyway; using pelle's C with its resource editor is also quite successfull, and it will beat the size of wxwidgets easily.

Yeah, Turbo Delphi Professional looks nice.. and for only 399$.

As for C++, Pelles doesn't handle ++, only C. So that's why I use
something different.

I might consider Turbo C++ Professional. We'll see.

Just a little more information.

Well, it turns out that when you buy any of the packages, wether it be
Delphi, C++ Builder, C# .. you still get ALL THREE .. It's a studio,
I originally thought that if I bought Delphi 2006 Pro, that I would get just
Delphi, and it's compiler.. but not true. I still get all the other languages
in the studio.

The Pro Studio is still a bit over $1000. The Turbo Professional (individual)
languages are $400 for each one.
