PureBasic books?

Post by Tipperton »

Other than Kale's "Purebasic - A Beginner's Guide To Computer Programming" book, what other books related to PureBasic (especially v4) are available?

in [NEW BOOK] Purebasic - A Beginner's Guide To Programming... supposed to be some kind of a joke?

I think that's not specifically for PB 4. And it's the only other one.

'Learn to Program 2D Games in PureBasic' by Krylar is written for PB v3.94, so it doesn't contain updated v4 code. It's the only other book available for Purebasic.

OK, I think I'll start with your book, Kale, to get a handle on PB, then if I decide I want/need something about game programming, I'll either use that book or find a good one that isn't too language specific.

I am by no means a beginning programmer, just want something, for now, to speed up learning PB...

Thanks!

Isn't that just a printed version of the current help file?

Is Krylar's book even being sold?

People should stop mentioning it. Especially since it was put out by a company who has done more to harm indie developers and indie programming languages than any other company on the planet.

Hey Kale,

Are you planning to write a second book?
I would definitely buy it.
(how good or bad is your book sold, by the way? just curious..)

A second book? there's nothing more to write about. Well, ok the book i wrote contains everything to do with Purebasic except using interfaces and prototypes. I might revise it and produce a 2nd edition with everything contained. Before i do that however, i'll need to try and convince my girlfriend that she'll not see me again for a few months. I havn't made my mind up yet so don't hold your breath, it might never happen.

As for the sales of my book, i am very happy with how it's gone and i have made $1000's from it. I have also never heard any bad things said about it either, which is nice. :)

For any considering it, Kale's book is very good. Well worth the price.

Didn't somebody used to have a site with some really good PB tutorials on it?

*edit* This is the site I was thinking about:
