I recommend DOom3, QUake 4, and UT2004 for linux gaming...

Also theres a free game called Legends.

As far as cedega for games goes.. alot of games run great, some not so great. You can get CVS-builds of cedega from various websites for free.
4 questions..

1 Newegg is America so that's around $180.00 (or more) in Australian Dollars?
2. Do they sell worldwide?
3. What brand is that card?
4. Do you know if it supports Vista's aero interface?

Yes, you are right, the 7600 GT is around 180 €, the AGP version cost less (150/160).
Btw, this is a solid gpu with the last gfx technics (hdr, sm 3.0, purevideo, h264 accelerations, dual dvi ...).

I own CrossOver office and must say it works pretty nice and easy to install windows apps. Wine can be a major pain because of the other stuff that you have to install, i.e. fonts, that you dont find out about until you install your software. The biggest problem is InstallShield, and since most apps use it, its a major hurdle to Wine, but CrossOver has conquered that beast.

I have had some of my apps (QuickBooks) stop working after doing an Ubuntu update, so be careful. But once I reinstall (takes 4 hours) it will work again.

To me - it was worth the $60 bucks rather than spend 3 days trying to figure out Wine.

I checked the prices of my local PC store and the GeForce 7600 GS costs 138€. But the GeForce 7600 GS is passive-cooled, and I prefer active-cooling.

Oh and dracflamloc: thanks for recommending some of the top games of today, but I don't like shooting games. First Person Shooters are what I hate the most. And I hate war very much. Innocent people die for nothing and the only thing that is left after a war is only harm.

I've bought Cedega although I don't really like WINE & Co.
Look here and here to get information about which games are running with Cedega and which not.

If you wanna save some bucks buy a 6600GT, the performance / price is the best...

About the Doom3, don't buy it... It sucks, i finish it in 2 days... Even installed the shotgun mod, and played the entire game only with the shotgun... Too easy, too predictable..

Haven't played Q4, but UT04 runs with full effects with no frame drop.

I agree, doom 3 is only a tech demo nothing else.
Quake 4 is a clone of doom 3 (in single player mode) with, this time, a nice multiplayer gameplay, the maps are well designed as well as weapons and the community in general.

I disagree about Quake 4. There are no massive dark hallways or 'monster closets' like in doom 3. I actually found Quake 4 singleplayer to be very enjoyable.

FEAR's singleplayer was okay, but the weapons really lacked that 'fun factor' for me. However the free multiplayer 'FEAR Combat' they released I'm enjoying alot more than the singleplayer.

Well, as I said I don't like shooting/war games, so please don't recommend me some :? !
And with what Num3 said, I think I'll buy a GeForce 6600 GT...

Oh!

Just an important side note, your Power Supply Unit must be at least 350Watts (for real, not those ultra cheap 200w ones that have a 350watt sticker), or you can't juice the monster!
