Shocking rumor regarding Fred's absence...

Everything else that doesn't fall into one of the other PB categories.

Shocking rumor regarding Fred's absence...

Post by Kale »

I've made some enquiries into why Fred doesn't seem to be contributing much to the forum nowadays and it's because he is busy, Very Busy! Infact i've heard it's because he and the team have had a re-think about the design of PBv4 and they've decided to add (wait for it..) FULL OOP SUPPORT! I've also heard that this is a decision largely based upon being approached by a larger company (sometime in this year) with the intention of aquiring Purebasic.

I personally think that PB doesn't need OOP but if it's fully supported (like it sounds as though it's going to be) i'll still be using it. :)

I can't name sources, but they seem credible!

Any official word?

As long as it is optional ...

I am not sure this is good news (for the users)
VisualOOPure.NET with 5 Mb runtime :(
For free libraries and tools, visit my web site (also home of jaPBe V3 and PureFORM).

That's a point, the 'buy once, get all updates for life free' license that we all bought PB under was from Fantasie Software. Does this remain valid with a new company and a 'new' product? Maybe not!

If the new company choose not to honor the free upgrade contracts/reciepts, then that company is in a world of hurt with lawsuits on it's hands.

Anyway, I really hope this is purely a rumor. One of PB's strengths is no OOP.

There is nothing going on except for the linux development, trust me.

Cool! It seems to be taking a while though. Are you sure that's all that's being worked on?
