My iPod Shuffle is dead

Post by Bonne_den_kule »

My iPod Shuffle died yesterday after getting the commom 'flashing orange and green' syndrome. If I connect it to the computer, I get a I/O error or insert disk message. The iPod Updater doesn't find it. It's only 18 months since I bougth it, so thats bad quality.

I am sorry to hear that. Nothing is worse than investing in a product only to have it quit working for no apparent reason.

I am kind of glad I never bought an iPod, they seem to have more problems than some of the comparable devices. I have a Creative Nomad MuVo 128MB I am listening to right now that is almost four years old and I have never had an ounce of trouble with it and I use it daily.

I had a similar problem when I first got my shuffle, have you tried reinstalling its firmware (theres a program you can get from the apple site that does it for you). It worked for me - otherwise, bummer :)
~I see one problem with your reasoning: the fact is thats not a chicken~

As I said, iPod Updater doesn't find the iPod, so I can't restore or update the firmware. :(

Well i have had my VIDEO IPOD 60 gb (the newest generation) and i never had just 1 single trouble with it. never!

So i haven't had a chance to regret the "buy"(well, it was an xmas present from my parents) yet.. :)

Sorry to hear about your shuffle though. Have you tried to contact the dealer?

I bougth it in USA for 18 Months ago, so it's a bit hard to contact the dealer. I will try to bring it to Apple Center in Bergen, and see if anything can be done.
