I am confused after looking at the Win32 library! I know that everything in MS Windows is really just a WINDOW but what is a Dialog Box in Win32 (it seems to be a text file with controls on it) and a Form in Visual Basic and OpenWindow in PureBasic? I want to understand the low level principles of Windows in order to create wonderful things like the scrolling dialog boxes in 3D Studio Max! For example:

If I create 3 windows in PureBasic, the first one to open is the main window that is needed in every win32 app (I understand this.) But according to Win32 Documentation when I want to open another window (for some options) they recommend creating a Dialog Box (a text file) and using a different bunch of Win32 commands. In PureBasic I simple use OpenWindow again. Does this mean I am creating two main windows instead of a window and a dialog box?

Also, does anyone know how you would do an MDI app in PureBasic or something like 3D Studio Max's interface?

Thanks again,
Stede Troisi

Try a search in the forum with the keyword "mdi". I posted an MDI template time ago (lots of API calls). I should rewrite it for 3.20, I think,

Ok, updated the MDI template, now it works in v 3.20.
