Hi everyone,

Has anyone built a GUI(form) designer programmer so we don't have to create windows from code? If so, can you point me in the right direction.

If not, does anyone want something like this?

There was a simple GUI designer last year, very simple one since discontinued. The author said he was working on another one eventually and there are other alternatives like PB's VB form to PureBasic converter, Franco's PureGUI wrapper and a few other things.

But, I think the more people who can make good GUI form designers, the faster people can spend time programming code so I for one would beg people to make them !!

I am a long-time Visual Basic user, so I wrote a VB-to-PB form converter here:

http://www.bowlay.com/vis2pure.htm

So you can design your forms with VB, then convert them into PureBasic sources.
Not all gadgets from the VB form are supported, and the program is still in beta
stage, but it works well and a lot of people here like it. And it's free.

(And if you don't own VB, there is a free download to it at the URL above).

Are you offering to write one? If so, just do it -- many people, including myself,
would appreciate it.

My PureGUIDE is in an early stage. Just finished the Project/File management stuff (read/write PureBasic files, build directories for each project and other stuff...).
I don't have much time for this project right now, so it's kinda slow.

But if you want to build one and have enough time, start right away.

Like PB said, his converter is already running and you can use VB's visual tool for it...

Hi I am a prosective Buyer of PB and I am Very interested in the visual developement. Is there a way to design a front panel for VB without VB. I don't want to buy VB just for the Visual Designer.

Thanks,
Ryan

Welcome Ryan,
PB (the user...) not only offers a VB to PureBasic converter, he has on his site also a link to download the FREE version of Visual Basic 5 called the Control Creation Edition (7MB).
So you can design your GUI with it and than convert it with PB's tool to PureBasic.
