MS
But the story will continue..
I really don't like that Dot Net stuff by the way.
What about C#? Do you now anything about it?
Will it conquer the world like other MS concepts did?

C# is just a language.C# is a well structured language, and its really good for some larger projects, and its easy to manage and go around it. Something like a mix of the good stuff from C++, Basic and Java.Character wrote:But the story will continue..

.net is a kind of "new" api. Basically its more high level. I believe there are different tools for different jobs. Purebasic can be used for some stuff that .net cannot do, and .net can be used for some things that are really hard to manage in purebasic really easy.
Its what you need to make. If you needed a database app, you really don't need exceptional speed (.net is optimized. don't take me there; but purebasic can be hand optimized so it can be faster in some areas.) , i would use C# and .net. For other stuff, purebasic, C, assembly and so on is the choise.

Re: MS
Can't agree more! Sometimes I use VBScript or another scripting language, sometimes C++ or PureBasic and sometimes another language. It all depends on what you are going to achieve, the timeframe, the project and so on. It is really stupid (or should we say impossible) to use ONE computer language for ALL stuff.thefool wrote:Its what you need to make. Exactly! Besides all the joy goes of programming if you cant play with new stuff once in a whiletechjunkie wrote:Can't agree more! np, character.
Oh and a little thing; C# Was developed by the danish Anders Hejlsberg, and C++ is developed by the danish Bjarne Stoustrup. We are the roots to all evilness
Further: Anders Hejlsbjerg is also the developer of PolyPascal wich was sold to Borland and later called TurboPascal.
Anders Hejlsbjerg develops DELPHI in corporation with Borland later.

Anders Hejlsberg (born c. 1961[1]) is an influential Danish software engineer who co-designed several popular and commercially successful programming languages and development tools. He currently works for Microsoft, where he is the lead architect of the C# programming language.
After Borland's takeover, Turbo Pascal became the most commercially successful Pascal compiler ever. As part of the deal that saw Borland take control of Turbo Pascal, Hejlsberg became Chief Engineer at Borland, where he remained until 1996. During this time he developed Turbo Pascal further, and eventually he became the chief architect for the team which produced the replacement for Turbo Pascal, Delphi.
Bjarne Stroustrup (born December 30, 1950 in Aarhus, Denmark) is a computer scientist and the College of Engineering Chair Professor of Computer Science at Texas A&M University. He is most notable for developing the C++ programming language. A rough English attempt at pronunciation of his name would be "B-yar-ne Strov-stroop"[1].
Jaap Haartsen
I'm impressed.
Denmark is even smaller than the Netherlands.
But it seems the Danish are big in technical things..
(and beer, still think Carlsberg beer is the best around hehehe)
Oh yeah, before I forget:
What about Jaap Haartsen. He is the inventor of Bluetooth.
He happens to be Dutch
(but worked for Ericsson)[/code]

cool

Carlsberg rocks. Period!
Actually denmark's areal is bigger than nederlands, but the population is only 1/3rd. (and our income per person is bigger
)
however i think netherlands and denmark are quite eqal, except denmark is much more expensive. Actually we got the worlds highest car prices..
Nice to find someone who shares my opinion(and beer, still think Carlsberg beer is the best around hehehe)

--> True (Netherlands about 17 million people)
--> True++ (That's why I drive a 10 years old Japanese car!)Actually we got the worlds highest car prices..
PS
See, there is no Danish Wikipedia article about PureBasic.
I wrote (translated from German) the NL one while ago:
http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/PureBasic
Hope this will help attracting more NL people.

I have been in norway nummerous of times; and mostly the stuff is cheaper. And your car prices.. uhh.. if we had those
The places i talk about is cheaper, are high-rated winther vacation places where very known danish actors actually also had their vacation this year. and some other places
but its not much cheaper. House prices; i don't know.
Yeah but thats an itty bitty small Benz. My uncle bought a used BMW 748SLi not long ago, 2003 model I think, it cost hime 1.200.000NOK. and that's for a used car.
Ok, lets talk prices, how about two of the most important once? Beers and smokes? hehehehe
A pack with 20 cigarettes costs 76 kroners here, and a 6 pack of "cheap" beer costs around 80 if I remember correctly.
