Need help to restore pictures on memory card

Post by GeoTrail »

A friend borrowed my digital camera which uses xD memory card, I told him that I didn't have time to copy over my own pictures from the card, but when I got the camera back he had deleted everything on the card. Does anyone know of a good, safe and hopefully free way of restoring the pictures?

I cant recommend one but I know its possible. Sorry.

Besides, if any of them contained nudity, you can bet they will be posted on the Internet shortly.

Thanks for the tip Droopy.
It is shareware and is fully functional, but can only restore 1 file per day, so that could take some time, if it really does work ;)

GeoTrail,

Download a copy of Zero Assumption Digital Image Recovery from:

http://www.z-a-recovery.com/digital-image-recovery.htm

The program is shareware, but the digital image recovery functions are free.

Thanks for the tip ebs.

Droopy, I found a freeware version of HandyRecovery and that worked pefectly. Got all but 3 pictures back. The three that I didn't restore seemed to work, the filesize and name seemed ok, but I can't open the images.

Anyways, it's just three of them and I can't remember what they wer're, so I'm happy with the result.

Thanks again :)

One day when you least expect it, you'll remember what they are and
yell "oh crap!"

Hehehehe yeah that might happen.
But when that day comes, it'll be too late, then all the sectors will be overwritten and all data lost. Oh well, shait happens
