PeekB() and PokeB() commands..

Microsofts Quickbasic 4.5 had an IN, and OUT, command. Useful as I used them to interface with an old EISA i/o interface card. Is PBs 'PeekB()' and PokeB() commands equivalent? If they are, in what format format should the be specified. i.e Hex, Binary etc., Excuse the (possibly) obvious questions.. I have looked through the forums but couldn't find anything on this topic. Thanks.

Peek and Poke are working with User-Memory.If you want to set/get the HarwarePorts(In/Out)(For example the speaker or the LPT-Port) you can access the Ports with a external DLL and system-driver.I use the free WINIO.It works great.You can download at:
