Got a virus warning with visual designer from jaPBe

Post by GeoTrail »

I was searching my harddrives this morning and got this message from KasperSky:

"C:\Program Files\jaPBeForPB400\Plugin\Visual Designer.exe is a Trojan Trojan.Win32.Agent.mp."
I'm using the latest version of jaPBe, but haven't gotten any messages about this when I used Avast Home!

Some of the exe files are packed, this may explain some false alarms. You can always compile the sources.
For free libraries and tools, visit my web site (also home of jaPBe V3 and PureFORM).

Yesterday I got a brand new notebook. I installed XP, drivers, ServicePacks, Avast (antivir) and PB.

After installation PB from my PB account I got this:

I was just about to post the same thing. It started on Avasts morning update!

I've spent all morning double checking everything here for Spyware and Virus programs using other programs - nothing.

But Avast keeps on saying that PureBasic V3.94 and V4 are both keyloggers.

The worst thing is that large projects compiled with either of them seem to have the same problem! :(

I know its not Fred's fault, but someone from the PureBasic team should get in touch with the people at Avast and make sure that they make a quick update.

You can pack them and pray not to have another false alarm due to the packer

Just got in touch with Fred on IRC and he's already reported it to Avast. :)

Looks like the problem should go away soon.

Looks like I'm back to using AVG after telling everyone how good Avast was!

I trust on avast as AVM did not found all trojans. (it was up to date indeed!)

Anyway, I send a mail to avast too. I think this will be fixed in an update tomorrow. :)
