DirectX 10 support?

Post by Shannara »

This is a kinda misnomer, but with DirectX10 "around the corner", I was wondering if you guys think it would be possible to use it with-in PB? Maybe with static dlls or such?

some dx10 apps run in xp but the marjority doesn't simply because of the hardware layer change in vista and how direct uses it

in the current sdk they have dx10 includes and static libs
there not particually hard to convert there's just alot of it...
the Libs them selfs can be imported and they work just fine no external dll

well, i've tried somewhat to have a neutral attitude towards m$, but dx10 sounds to me like a push to force customers to buy vista otherwise their games do not run

i severely doubt dx10 NEEDS vista to run

The released version of PB4 works with Vista just fine and with XP. At least it does with the current beta of Vista.

Nah...it just sounds worse then it is. The same thing happened with previous versions of DirectX its just that they wern't integrated into the OS like version 10 will be in Vista.

I noted that some web sites have video that can only be seen if you are running XP or Vista. It looks like M$ is drawing a line in the sand when it comes to making newer DirectX releases retro to earlier versions of Windows.
