PB4 License agreement on installation

Post by Tranquil »

Maybe I missed something, but I never saw a license agreement on the PB installation-part.

Shouldn't be there something like a non-liability (google translated 'haftungsausschluss' from german)?

I'm not an expert of legal rights but what happens if someone creates a programm that is coded right but internaly of pb there is something wrong. In worst case this bug will result in a financial damage which could be last on Fred and his company. I know this is the worst case but who knows...

PB community is still growing up and the risk of such scene will increase.

Thanks for reading, hope you understand my bad english. :D

i think everybody understand what you mean and i agree you! Something like "i agree / dont agree" wndow at the beginngin of the PureBasic isntaller would be OK!

stuff that could be added...

- Freds company isnt responsible for any softwaer damage by using PB.
- Freds company isnt repsonsible for any damage by any kind software coded in PB, (responsible for coded virus, trojans... is the coder of the program and in no case freds company)
- and a lot more stuff...

You accept that stuff by downloading/purchasing.

No need to nag the user every time they reinstall.

This does not seem to be correct. There is no hint or something like "Legal issue agreement" on the pb site. If it exists, it is very hidden.

This should be added.

OT: just a side note: dict.leo.org is highly recommendable if not even the best (free) dictionary out there
Good programmers don't comment their code. It was hard to write, should be hard to read.
