The language self does not seem to be .NET if you thought so.

Thing is, it needs .NET 1.1. AND, it's on top of C#, AND, the Visual Studio C# GUI looks the same.....
I beginning to suspect this is what you gain access to when you go with MS and the .NET.

But I'm just curious and asking, so please prove me wrong. I'm an apprentice.

I don't think i'll install it but i'm curious about the menu so one day i'll try VB.NET menus to see what i'll get

You are aware of the free .NET IDE's from billy right?
You can dl VB.NET for free and check what .NET gives to you.

However, XP theming is most likely NOT the same as VB.NET.
I may assume much of the controls in VB.NET will be custom made.

Well, I have done .NET applications myself and no matter what my opinion is, I'm pretty shure that it is here to stay. So I'll hope that Microsoft does their best with it.

I've worked with Window servers, Terminal Servers and Citrix since the begining and the system that couse most problems are systems with a runtime engines, i.e. .NET, Java and Visual Basic. You often have to set aside the security to get applications working and that isn't good.

One good thing though, in the new versions of Visual Studio you can check / mark you application for "Terminal Server Awareness" and that's really good!

Does Pure Basic support windows forms for Vista?

maybe it already does could someone give me some more information on this subject...

I'm almost sure that Windows Forms is a wrapper for the WIndows API with a few ownerdrawn components here and there.
