T3h Warg 3 - submit YOUR picture!

Post by dracflamloc »

Hey folks. For T3h Warg 3, I will be picking several of you forumites to be monsters and bosses in the game!

Post a picture of your face here in this thread and if you're lucky I'll choose your picture and create a highres ms-paint likeness of you for use in the game!

I guess what I meant to say was: Do you need help with graphics? I'm pretty good with cartoonish drawings, then I scan them in to PhotoShop and fix them up. You can check out one of my test pages at www.gbeebe.com/test.gif it's about 1 1/2 years old so I'm a little better at it now, or i could do poorer quality if you'd like.

Anyways, I know how hard it is to come by an artist and judging from the pervious two versions, I think I can lend a hand. And I need something to do during my long spells of programmers block.

Edit:
@dagcrack: Yea he's kinda got that look that says "Hi, how's it going, nice to see ya', now I'm gonna stab you in the leg with this spork"

No offense to that guy what-so-ever.

Ok if you want to help (anyone), here are the specs I use:

(You can see examples in the wargengine sample or in t3h warg sequal)
Each sprite is in a single file. 4x6 frames. The frames can be whatever size you want. doesn't have to be square, (eg it can be 132x91 per frame)

The first column is the down column, the 2nd column is the up column, the third column is right, and the 4th column is left.

The first 4 rows are the various walking animation frames.
The last 2 rows are the attacking frames.

So:

Code: Select all

D U R L
D U R L
D U R L
D U R L
AD AU AR AL
AD AU AR AL
I use tiles that are 48x48 in size. I could really use some corn stalks/farmland, desert, various desert objects and stuff (cactuses etc)

Some nice fade-in and outs of the grass<->dirt<->desert

Really anything thats made will be appreciated. The corn stalks for the farmland can be 48x96, that way they can be used in a way like the tall trees in the example.

Also some walls of buildings and wood planks would be great.

What types of characters and or monsters are you looking for, what size do you prefer them to be, and how serious do you want them to look?

Edit:
I can do them like this (I'll have to work on my animation skillz)

Hey thats pretty cool. About that size should be fine. Don't worry much about how big the transparent borders are (just try to minimize them for file size sake) because the engine has separate width/height for the collision.

Any bunch of monsters, guards, random forest creatures would be great. Maybe a wizard. And a baby =P

That size seems to be good, maybe smaller (75%)?. Most important is to choose a base human size and angle and scale everything off that so things look right (big monsters, small monsters, small squirrels, etc)

Thanks a bunch =)
