- New autocomplete option for Import functions in the IDE
- New customizable background
Fine, but I think it would be preferable to do only bug fixes at the beta stage and postpone added features until the next full version.

We are at beta 8 and still finding bugs, some of which weren't present in the early betas. We need to converge toward a stable and bug free full release even though it may be short of a few WOW features.

I agree with you geoff, but keeping in mind the incredible way Fred has been working in the bug reports forum I don't think bugs will be much of a problem for the final release.

That is, of course, unless Fred isn't telling us the truth every time he posts 'Fixed' :P

And Fred isn't alone.
Fred is fixing bugs while PB IDE, PB Visual Designer are in a continuously development by the PB Team.

fred can you please upload a beta9, with all the beta libs from http://www.purebasic.com/beta/

many people are confused about the polink errors and dont know where to put the *.lib or simply dont know that there are beta libs available anyway.

so everyone can check for bugs in the same version again, instead of some people posting beta8 bugs, the others beta8.5.

Still Working with Beta 7?

Post by Franky »

Hi people.

Are all of you sure, you are working with beta 8 and not Beta 7?

I just found out, that Fred packed the Zip in a different way this time .

Normaly, PureBasic is packed in the Zip directly, this time it´s in a directory called "main".

I worked with Beta 7 and thought it would be 8 until this morning

geoff:
We had a long discussion about this with the last release. There is no need to start it all over again.

We are focusing on Bugs only. The few IDE things added are only minor changes
and will not delay the bugfixing at all.
The IDE has to support the compiler features of the current version. If something
like the Import/EndImport is not handled correctly, it might as well be considered a bug too.

I second the beta 9. The current download I just downloaded before I typed this, doesnt have the directory structure in order to install .... Any chance to fix the directory structure? How are we supposed to install Beta 8?
