Stopping files going to the Recycle Bin?

Anyone know if there's a way to "trap" files being sent to the Recycle Bin and
send them to a folder instead? I want to create my own version of Norton's
Protected Recycle Bin, if possible.

scan the trashcan-directory periodically and move/copy the files into another directory.Hope this helps
