Killer speed increase Fred. I mean!!... I mean, this has got to be untouchable! What did you do

From launch to ready, my program and data loaded up in about 5.6 seconds on PB3.94. Now only 2.2 seconds on PB4 Beta 6.

Now while I have to commend you on this masterful achievement, I have to say I'm not too excited about you pushing my program size up from 533504 Bytes to 561152. That's 17% bloat you added to my program Fred

Sure! You can make it run 2 1/2 times faster, but your killing me with all this bloat. Can't you make it half the size?

2 1/2 times ! ! ! That's killer Fred

BTW the changes you've made look really great too! Thanks!

Have you switched floats to doubles, or something like that?
Mmm... even in fact i've heard that the v4.0 doesn't use .w neither .b, because it converts them internally to longs

psychophanta, wouldnt that do peeking and poking longs on a byte NON-vital? Try do it..

Starting with v4.00, all the file operations use a buffer now, which accounts
for the speed increase in loading data files. Plus unlimited length strings and
quads... who would want to stay with v3.94 anymore?
