Purchase question...

I wish to write a screen saver construction kit... for both the PC and Mac. Purebasic has been suggested, but I have registered on here to ask for the opinion of others.

Is PureBasic up to the task.. is it possible to read the command like arguments for instance, as passed by Windows for screen savers etc?

Of Course! You can achieve it in several different ways. Here is the source of a full screen saver written in Purebasic:

As well as reading the command line args it contains a preview window and registry commands.

The only thing it doesn't handle is passwords, but that could be implemented.

Writing screensavers for the Mac is probably better done using the free Quartz Composer that comes with the DevTools bundled with Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger).
