Both Borland Delphi and RealBasic 2005 often brag about the fact that their IDEs were actually developed in their respective environments as a demonstration of the power and flexibility of their development environments.
The Delphi IDE was developed in Delphi and the RealBasic 2005 IDE was developed in RealBasic. They're showcases of their technology.
Freak developed the PureBasic Editor and Berikco developed the Visual Designer, both in PureBasic, so PureBasic has the same bragging rights.
They call this "eating their own dog food" and could be a useful marketing and sales point for PureBasic.
PB IDE and VD developed in PB
Re: PB IDE and VD developed in PB
You forgot that the IDE uses Scintilla. Also, take a look here: http://www.purebasic.com/screenshots.php3

The use of Scintilla demonstrates good 3rd party integration abilities.Trond wrote:You forgot that the IDE uses Scintilla. Also, take a look here: http://www.purebasic.com/screenshots.php3
Those screenshots are ancient!

The Editor and Visual Designer are of course written in PureBasic

Maybe the PB Team can be interested if PB users shows some screenshots of the PB IDE in action...
So here is mine and curious to see some others screenshots just as a new customer might wish

@Flype: Your screenshot is fantastic, it should go on PureBasic.com for sure!
I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).

Great screenshot Flype!
It would be nice to also have 3 screenshots from 3 supported platforms (Windows, Linux and OS X) when PB4 has been released for all 3 ... all showing a similar layout. Similar to what RealBasic has done here:
