Hey all! I'm sorry to introduce myself this way but I have a bit of a problem.
Basically the short story is this.... last night I saved my code and powered the PC off. Tonight I powered on the pc and loaded up PureBasic. Now all I have is this where my code was....
00000000 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................

00000090 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................
000000A0 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................
000000B0 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................

000000D0 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................
well much more but I didnt want to annoy anyone with a few pages of nothing but 0's. Is there anyway that I can convert this back to the text file or am I up the creek without a paddle?
Thank you for any help you can give.

LOL COMA!!!
Don't panic Shadow2002... However you should, this could be a hardware issue. I've had a bunch of this type of issues on some customers PCs... however, its not always a hardware problem though.
If it does happen again, I recommend you to install a fresh copy of another OS for example you could boot up knoppix via CD and try there if you lose any data from the harddrive (mount it and read / write data.. see if you can replicate the data-loss) if you could, thats a defective harddrive. Else, It could be anything.. including some lame worm (er actually almost every worm I know attacks dlls.. exes... etc, but who knows what you've got in there).
Alright enough shooting on the dark.. Last thing: "power off" ? sounds like you pull the plug from the wall
better turn off your pc via software!! (just kiddin, but hope you do so).
By the way, thats a nice little book though!

On a side note, I did power it down correctly, well I think, dont you just kick the box as hard as you can til it powers off? Hrm, if not I have been doing it wrong this whole time.
Dear dear, that was the wrong method, it was already suggested it should be done software-matic. I usually run my infinite loop program that floods data to my harddisk until I get a black screenShadow2002 wrote:On a side note, I did power it down correctly, well I think, dont you just kick the box as hard as you can til it powers off? Cracking up
Oh people.. what would happen if we were all inside a cafe: full of notebooks, coffee, high speed internet access and lots of girls (some would be paid, you know.. many girls would hate all that stuff in the same room!) - Let's not forget about beer, but that comes after development time for someones!.
Well I already have all that, apart from the place full of programmers and nerdies though.. (too bad, nah seriously, could be fun).
