For the information, you won't have to learn a new langage with v4, it's just the logic evolution of v3.x series. That said, most of codes won't compile out of the box, due to some command changes, but nothing to really worry about once you will have some grip on the new features. We will provide a document which list all the changes, so if you take the time to read it, you won't have any surprises.

I love PB as it is. But to be honest, I wouldn't be totally opposed to a streamlined command set. For the most part, I'd bet that the the majority of the 'old' commands could still be kept, but simply superceded by the newer ones.

Some of the current commands, for example, I feel maybe could be shortened.

Absolute command consistancy is key, I believe.

I'm sure PB4 will be totally awesome and I'm sure Fred has put a lot of thought into how the language "works" in this new version. Most languages go through changes that are done either for extra functionality, redundant functionality, or some other reason (un-squashable bugs...). And usually these changes are for the better.

I'm looking forward to see what Fred has in store for us!

muahahaha, stop this!
rings, what did you do?!
Good programmers don't comment their code. It was hard to write, should be hard to read.
