Here's what I think of M$ and Visual Basic

I just checked Microsoft's site and the Standard (not Pro) version currently
costs AUD $508 -- so you getting it for AUD $50 was a bargain! The Pro is
AUD $1387!

I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).

Wow. HUGE difference. I may not be talking about the same thing you are!?
But it is (was) VB.NET with manuals and guides for Visual Studio 6 professional edition and VB.net and lots of big glossy foldouts (like ATL structure diagram, etc etc). It also had a "How to convert VB6 to VB net" which, basically, was a long winded way of saying you couldn't easily do it.
It has (had), from recollection, 4 or 6 CDs. It took hours to install (literally hours on win2K) in staged installs from the CD.
It was horrible to use. And each net upgrade seemed to bring on a conflict. I think the original net version was something like 1.0.nnnnn
I did nothing serious with it at all. So glad I didn't fork out $500+ or $1300+
If I can find the CDs and etc I might see if I can downgrade it. But I am not sure where I stored them. Perhaps the waste paper bin.

We talk about vb.net only, not visual studio.net. Visual studio is a collection of c++.net, vb.net, c#.net, j#.net and more.
