now everyone can sign up for gmail, go to https://www.google.com/accounts/SmsMailSignup1?loc=AU

or if u dont have a phone, pm me ure current email, and ill send u an invite...

You have to hand it to Google with their brilliant advertising scheme. Create demand where there isn't any -- bloody fantastic!

Well, part of the way they created demand was by creating a superior product. Their mail and interface is the best I've seen.

[rant]gmail just made my life much easier, thanks to very responsive interface, and the tons of cool features. I use it exclusively since more than 1 year and won't change ever for an offline mailer (too much worries for synchronizing rules, address etc.)[/rant]

Gmail impressed me more than Yahoo, but until they let you send an *.exe
by mail, and also make the filtering more user-friendly, I won't use it.
