Forum - Script timed out !?

Last time i have very often the problem that i cant really reach the pb forum... Last time i have often following error-message when trying to the forum... (not every, but very often!)

The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. You can change this limit by specifying a new value for the property Server.ScriptTimeout or by changing the value in the IIS administration tools.

PIII450, 256MB Ram, 6GB HD, RivaTNT, DirectX8.1, SB AWE64, Win2000 + all Updates...

Sounds like a good idea... because I often have trouble accessing these forums
and get regular timeouts/can't connects to it. I rarely mention it though
because last time I did most people said it was just me.

But if it's going to cost you more money... well, that's not fair to you.

I always wanted to start a PureBasic newsgroup on Usenet, but don't know how.
Something like alt.purebasic would be great! If anyone knows how to send
control messages to Usenet to start alt.purebasic, please feel free!

Reading + writing in the forum with all the
time we have to wait (slow+timeouts) is really annoying.

After pressing "Post New Reply", you have to wait
1 minute before it tells you that your reply
hasnt been posted.
Hopefully you copied the whole answer before that...

Maybe you can convert the old Forum to
a database format for offline reading -
so someone can download the whole forum.

About the $$$:
Its FredericÂ´s thing to pay the forum costs...

I'm currently working on a big Homepage which will be a database for PB-programing based on information from this forum.
You can find your information there, then.

But it still need a lot of work... maybe 2 weeks.

I also thought about that (making the Page downloadable for offline reading)
but i don't know for sure.
I'll finish the page first, and the n, let's see...

About the Forum:
It can't be that the script is slow, there aere times, when i don't get any
reply from the forum at all, but if i try 5 minutes later, the pages
appear in some seconds.

Nothing to worry about. If if we do migrate, these forums will remain available in a "read only" form. There's too much valuable information here to just throw away...

Better use MySQL which is freeware and MUCH faster than MsSQL Server 2000 or access 2000. It's dead easy to administrate (web based). If you need more info, just contact me . BTW, why it's not possible to migrate properly the forums on another database ?

The underlying tables are completely different ("Snitz Forum" vs "PHPbb") as I understand it. If I was sticking with the same, ASP based forum, this would not be a problem though as conversion to another database format isn't generally a problem.

Update: I have upgraded the forums to the very latest build. As well as incorporating new features (I've disabled some of them for now) there have been improvements in speed and code optimizations (apparently). Every little helps for now...
