yes i updated it right after posting.. Why: if you cant unpack the crackme, then you cant crack it at all!

its not scrambled though.

use them only for testing, and never distribute a program that is packed with them! There are known bugs.

I had already decompressed when I posted that. It meant that I found out that you were using the beta version of UPX.

Where is the easier ones? This one is too difficult for a beginner. (I've never tried anything like this before.)

@trond and other beginners: This is the level 1. Its easy

File:1->thefools_crackme_-_part_1.exe

edit: Its educational to crack them! This is the simplest one. No protection at all! next one will be a bit harder.. but ill give you some time to solve this

Ok, here's the solution to the easy one. It was at the border of my capability but I got it.

Actually, the problem was neither to find out the password nor to find out what I had to replace with what in memory, but to find out how to make the disassmbler show me the position in the file instead of in memory.

Patch: crackthefool_1.exe

Edit: For number 5, do you think that you would be able to crack that one if you didn't write it yourself?

(you can try to crack the MD5 if you want, lol)

i put this as solved. MrMat did it to notice that. So, i guess you are all ready for the chapter 2 in some time. Tonight i will make it. some homework first
