Gmail dislikes zip attachments?

Sent from Gmail, or to a Gmail address? My problem is when sending to my
Gmail address, from a regular non-Gmail account. But as I said, I've gone
back to using my ISP's mailbox now.

I encountered the problem with sending to a gmail account to but I still have others so no real problem renaming to pk3 (waht is zip in deed) also works but I think it's not OK

PB,

If you're using Gmail to store your files, why not Pack and then Base64Encode them. That way there just text.

Thats what I do. I then have a simple program to extract them.

No didn´t use Gmail to store my Files but because some people use Miranda and so ICQ's Filetransfer isn't working and I hav to send the files per mail.

No, the issue came about because a friend tried to send me a zip with an
exe in it, and I was using Gmail to forward the mail to my "real" address.
Gmail was rejecting the zip, and that's how I discovered the problem.

edit: Amatur and newbie isnt the same. in my eyes, an amatur is just someone who doesnt code for a living, but for a hobby. Maybe im wrong though

I did in the past when I used Visual Basic, yes. Not commercially, but I made
some money with some shareware apps. I hope to do well with a commercial
app that I'm writing with PureBasic.

Anyway, what I meant was: what does being an amateur programmer have
to do with Gmail blocking zip attachments that contain an exe? Strange.

I mean amateur as someone that doesn't code for a living i.e. me. I have been paid to do stuff, but mostly I code for the fun of it. Amateur doesn't mean a bad programmer, actually some of the best might be amateurs.

Anyway, why I said "conspiracy" is because it used to be quite easy to send your exes and stuff through MSN, DCC, email, and one could store exes in the provided web-page some ISP's give you with your connection. Nowadays this is becoming more and more difficult.
