- u can use it for linux amiga and windows
- u can talk with the mainprogrammer directly(very good)
- the updates arent only one command like in bb. (look at the 2.50-2.70)

Been a blitz user since nearly the beginning. Was a DarkBasic user before that. Blitz3D beta tester team member...
Blitz3D beats purebasic hands down in the game creation department, which is what Mark is aiming for. There is no other package that comes close to it. The community is larger and more helpful, and there is a wealth of code out there for it.
PureBasic is pretty darn fast. It handles the Win32 API and has DLL support. It definitely has some advantages mostly in the app creation area. However, I have found it to be a bit weak in it's core language, lacking such simple things as scrollbars and other gui necessities for creating windows programs.
My personal conclusions... Until Mark releases BlitzPro, purebasic will have an edge in the app arena, but Blitz is the king of the hill for game creation.

Another Blitz3D user here. ACAMUS is my name on Blitz forum.
BB is good in game creation at this moment, rich features (for games), very stable and already fast enough.
I registered PB becasue I want my program can port to different platform, the 2D look quite good now. The development of PB is fast, new command add every month! Hope PB will have 3D library in future.
For this moment Blitz still my main game programming tool.

Hi @ all!
I still use BlitzPC since i am working on windows! I coded in BlitzBasic on Amiga before... Surelly a very great and fast language... some hidden bugs but else it was ok on amiga
The PC version is very good and easy for game productions... I dont like that BB will include one big dll into the file ;( There are BlitzAmiga and PureBasic (yeah) mutch better -> including only needed libs for small exesizze... I think PureBasic is the leading coding language to code easy, small and fast Win32 Applications with GUI... BB does not support any commands for API coding ;(( Maybe in the ProVersion...!? I will use BlitzPC for game/demo projects i.e.... and PB for Win/APIs... I think it will be the best combination... Btw. PB Plot() is really slow
happy coding...

Yup - Me too. I used Blitz Basic 2 on the Amiga (post Amos) and purchased a copy of the PC version as soon as it became available (2D and then 3D). For games it can't be beat IMHO and my current 2D project is being completely written in BB, with a front end GUI written in PB.
For apps, PB is absoutely stunning and it's expanding at an alarming rate - The recent compression and ODBC inclusions were most welcome
. Fred has big plans for the gaming side of PB as well...

The problem with Blitz3D was
the company behind it.
They said:
"This is just a quick note to make you all aware
that the upgrade discount from Blitz2D to Blitz 3D
expires in one months time (December 20th) as most
original 2D users have now upgraded.
This allows ample time for those who wanted to upgrade
to Blitz3D for Christmas
)"
So they wanted to press money from me ??
Not with me !!
I hate things like that (who are
this guys ??), so BB is dead for me...

If you bought Blitz2D recently and want to upgrade (after the special offer was over) then you have to pay full price for Blitz3D. That's not bad business it's just the facts. They didn't have to give a discount off of Blitz3D to begin with but they did. Irregardless, you could contact George Bray and more than likely work something out with himif you wanted to purchase Blitz3D in the first place. I have found that they are more willing to work with their customers than most companies.

Sounds to me like you don't have all the facts in the matter. Blitz2D is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than Blitz3D (14.99 compared to 82.00 or something like that). For registered 2D users right from the day they sold it, they said that they would give 2D users a "grace period" after the release of Blitz3D where they would get a discount on it just for having bought the 2D version. The problem with Blitz3D was
the company behind it.
