Never heard of it before, looked at their forums almost empty. Is it new or not very good? I do find it intresting that it can create applications on the PSP though.
Thanks

Lack of activity on the forums is usually a sign of something that doesn't have bugs and is easy to use. Adventure Maker has been around for a long time, is very stable, well supported and has a huge userbase.

Where is the userbase then if not on the forums? Like where do they go to talk about what they have created, share tips, etc..?
Thanks

Without downloading ...

This isnt a bad program, especially since its created with Visual Basic 6 :) On the front page, it specifically states the following:
. wrote: In addition to creating games for Windows, Adventure Maker Free Edition (v4.1 or newer) is capable of exporting the projects so that they can be played on portable gaming systems similar to the one in the picture on the right.
"On the right" is a picture of a PSP. Based on the quote, it does not create games for the PSP, only games on similar mobile devices :) And there are alot of those floating around.

The Full Edition can create stand-alone executables, and supports 360-degree panoramas, multiple-CD distributions, easy-to-learn scripting, custom plugins, Flash movies (SWF), over 30 file types (OGG, XviD, DivX, mp3...), and much more
Then farther down ...
Among the generated files, you will notice that there is a Setup.exe file. It automatically detects the portable gaming system, and installs the software on it (to see it in action, download a sample compiled game). The Setup file requires the VB6 runtimes to run, but these are included by default in Windows XP, so you don't need to distribute them. For older operating systems, you may want to link to this page, which contains an updated link to a place where people can download the VB6 runtimes (1MB).
It claims to create stand alone EXes.. which is 100% lie as stated by it's own website.

PSP does not run VB runtimes

Not nitpicking here but I am highly skeptical concerning this site that contradicts itself and known facts.

Bought it years ago, and there is still a large following. I have used it in classes due to it being affordable for classroom use. (I can't afford to buy software for my students.) You will find users on many of the adventure gaming sites along with the games and reviews of the system. Thats where I learned about it years ago.

Its a point and click game maker, it has to be written in something  Considering the garbage known as .NET, VB6 isn't all that bad when it comes to runtimes, especially since ME & above come with VB6 runtimes already installed.

The reason these "game creators" say this is due to the amount of $$ needed for "officially" support PSP. It is a licensed platform, afterall.
PSP does not run VB runtimes Rolling Eyes
It doesn't say the portable games need the runtimes. It says only the setup program (which you would install on your pc) needs the runtimes.

I have yet to see anything contradicting, all I have seen is you misreading the site

I do not own a PSP (mine went back the next day), but my business partner and best friend I have worked with since '97 has tried it and I take his word for it. He has never lied to me before, and I doubt he would now over something so trivial.

Everybody their own opinion, I guess. I only copy and pasted what was on the site :) I'll leave the site to speak for itself :) Interesting none-the-less.
