Hello everyone. Not really anything important to say, just wanted to introduce myself.
Actually, if anyone has worked with Blitz3D at all, I'd like to how PureBasic compares to that product. I've done a few small projects in Blitz and liked it more or less, but wanted more (I wanted to be able to do regular GUI programs in the same language and to target Linux and Windows without buying two licenses). PB looks to be that "more" if the 3D and network libraries are as easy to use as they look.
Hello, Blitz3D comparison

Hello
I have been messing around with Pure Basic for a little while and i would say it is very powerful and that the command layout is shorter the blitz3d so i guess that means less typing oh and smaller exes as well.
its fast but as for the 3d engine well that is a work in progress.
I look forward to ogre being done - fred is doing his best and it will get there.
some other forum members are working on the 3d engine stuff as well.
when it comes down to windows GUI - Pure Basic shines

Yeah awesome. I'm really looking forward to getting into PB more, which is a sort of strange feeling for a programming language.
Anyway. I noticed on the paged for WebGadget() that Mac OS X is listed as one of the supported OS. I haven't seen references to Mac OS before this, so that makes me ask the question: how much support is there for Mac OS? Can I build programs to run on it?

Hi and welcome !
MacOSX is currently under beta I think, but as I've heard it's pretty useable, with the IDE and many of the Windows features !
In comparison with Blitz3D, it will always be better to use Purebasic, except if you want to do 3D, I think Blitz is quite better at it.
But if you want to makes 2d games and apps it will makes the job !
