XAML will mean even more bloat, so PureBasic will look even purer.

Desktop applications and web-based applications are two very different disciplines right now. The harmonious integration of the desktop computer with in-house networked systems as well as wide-area networks like the internet and its descendents is a goal that cannot be ignored. We will reach a point where web and desktop computing are so seamless as to be indistinguishable from each other, but anyone will agree that big changes are going to have to be made to both environments for it to happen. I see the coming changes as painful but there's just no way to avoid it. That's progress and we have to be part of it. We can, however, take comfort in the knowledge that every software development tool on the planet is going to go through the same difficult changes (for the better) that we will.

I'm not going out on a limb when I say that 7 to 10 years from now we'll look back on the way we did things in 2005 and shake our heads in wonder.

Windows Vista isn't that bad - I've had it installed for months now. Even though the version they're shipping now is scaled down, I don't think you'll be disappointed *if* you have the required hardware.

Confirmed,
I could not test it  because I am not a professionell developer (studen in the 11 class) but I saw may videos on channel 9 and hey I like its ideas only TCPA is big bullshit. But for example a hradware rendered gui is good because when I have got a expensive graphics card I want it to do something even when I am just working or surfing the net. The search thing using a database is also very cool it takes that long to find anything on nowadays XP or Linux without using something like google desktop search.
bye Nik

PS: I hope that there will be a public Beta in the future so I can test it. (hmm hopefully i can install it together with linux else I will not have a free machine.)
