Well I'm not an english freak but I can tell you some examples of some of those words I know:

For Abeyance:

"The Abeyance of the player -name- Has ended, He'll be able to keep on playing in his team by tomorrow" ( ya know when they kick a player of the other team on his nuts - they take out the red card and they get suspended.. well abeyance is like "suspend"

For Abridge:

"I Abridged the word 'X'' to 'X' Now I like to abbreviate!"
( also accronyms can be taken as abridged words )

For Abrade:

"The Friction Abraded piece number I3842 On the 777 jumbo, caused the airplane to malfunction during landing, blablabla" (I dont need to mention that something gets abraded by friction only)

Isnt Acquiescence the inverse of Consent ? - Else I don't know!

For Acrimonious:

"The Acrimonious Fight ended up pretty bad, at least I got a knife in my BUTTHOLE" (Not for reals hehe else he'll end up with 2 in his ... )

 Sorry I don't even know what the others means I never heard of those. And if my examples wont cut it- then I don't know how to help you

:D

By the way: I think I still have that problem with present-future while writting in english (but not when speaking) weird, I think I was sleeping when the teacher talked about that some years ago:D

Now that I think about it - I don't remember many of the non-normally used words... And we had to study them and all.. If I ever see those teachers and professors again, I'll blame them!.

Mainly fault of the private school and college... There if you dont go you even pass the exams  Pay - Pass ! (But they are so corrupt I hate them so much..!)

In our country place we have a book called "Dassboken" which hangs next to the toilet. Translated from Norwegian to english it should be something like Toiletbook hehehe. Great reading, lots of jokes and stuff, but the weird part is that it has sections with questions "you can share with friends"

Alright, does anybody know the name of these things:

"!", "?", ":", ";", "[ ]", "{ }", "^" and "*"

:?

"!" - Exclamation sign..
usage: "HEY YOU BASTARD!!! GIMME DA ROCK BACK!!! YOU WILL DIE!! DIE!!!"

see?

Now,

"?" - Interrogation sign/mark..
usage: "ARE YOU GAY?" or "HOW MANY PRESIDENTS DID YOU SHOOT AT ONCE?"

see?

Now,
an extra!

"," - Comma!

The comma is used to make small pauses on a paragraph. When reading a text, if you see a comma, you must do a very small pause and keep on. With a period (dot) the pause should be a little longer than with a comma.

When you have asma, you talk all like: When, are, we, going, to.., end, this, type, of, questions, please, I, Need, AIR! -flushes medicine-, ah, thats, better - sigh - (Notice im not making fun of asmatics, in fact my brother was asmatic so you have no rights of saying im making fun OK! hehe).

I'll go on with the dot comma (thats how we call them in spanish..) brakets, etc. and by the way the *** are asterisks.

"Call *6969 For quick sex! And if you call RIGHT NOW! We'll send you a -used- playboy magazine! NO CHARGE! just 69 dollars the minute! - Presented: TOP (The Orgasmic Phone) Company."

Here's another adress for translation between Englisch, German, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese, Korean, Portugese (not all combinations are supported):
http://www.linguatec.net/online/ptwebte ... x_en.shtml

For Englisch<>German or French<>German the best site I know is:
http://dict.leo.org/

google and altavista do translate the sentence:
"Hello. I am pleased that today so bad weather is, since I am ill and lie in bed."
incorrect to German, because they translate lie with "the lie" and not "lay", so in German the sentance becomes nonsense.

linguadict instead recognizes that "I am lying" in bed.
But perhaps there are other examples where google/altavista beats linguadict. Further their website-translation is a cool feature.
