A request and a bug?

Request: When pressing CTRL+F for the Find dialog, can it be made so that
the "Search for" field keeps the last entered text, instead of clearing it? It's
a pain having to retype the same text each time. What I would suggest is,
put the last text there, but make it all selected by default. That way, you
can repeatedly search the same text without retyping it, but if you want a
new search, all you do is just start typing the new text and it will clear the
old because it's highlighted. Best of both worlds!

Bug: If I have one tab with a source loaded, and then click the New icon to
open a new tab, and then click the Load icon to load a new source into this
new tab, then the new source is loaded into a new THIRD tab instead:

FirstApp.pb | <New> | SecondApp.pb

Clicking the Load icon when the second <New> tab is selected should load
SecondApp.pb directly into the second tab, yes? Why into a third tab?

1) The "search for" field is actually a combobox. Click the arrow at the right to select previous search strings.

2) Personally I like that behaviour. (But that's just my opinion.)

Haha, I didn't even notice that! Okay, that means I can hit F3, then down
arrow, and then Enter to search for my previous item -- I can live with that.

Why do you like the Load button ignoring the current tab?

Because:

When I want to open a new file I use the Open toolbar button.
When I want a new file I use the New toolbar button.

Let's say I wanted a new file and then wanted to open a file. As it is now, I can get the new file tab at the left of the opened file tab or at the right of the opened file tab. (I just change the order of loading.) If it is as you want it, I would have to first open the file, then create the file, then go into sort sources if I wanted the new file tab at the left of the opened file.

It's not in my habit to click the new button when I want to open a file anyways. It's faster to just click the open button.

Let me explain then: the Open button should load a file into the current tab,
shouldn't it? So if I want to keep the current source AND open a new one,
I have to click New first and then Open to load into the new tab, right?

You are talking about File -> Open, right? It always opens a new tab. The new button does not create a new tab, it creates a new file, and all files have their own tabs, so it also creates a tab.

There is only one special when it opens in the current tab, and that's when there is only one new unchanged file open.

Huh? The New button definitely creates a new Tab for me, with each click.

Yes it does. Poor wording. I was trying to explain that you are managing files and not tabs sort of...

Yes, I think that both behaviours are intentional.
