This is NOT SPAM, since i dont have anything to do with this company.

I put it here like a tip for other coders, since this company send me an e mail offering they service and it looks VERY interesting because when you receive a CD order you tell this company to send the CD to your client address and THEN they charge you $6.95 for each one they sent.

No minimun ordering requiered.

I post it here because i guess more than one here can find it usefull.

7$
Hum... I don't really know what they are offering, but one blank CD cost something like 0.20$...

I havent checked out the site nor know their company

But its not about blank cds... They should print your cd stamp and cd covers as well as burn the cds with a matrix. then the price of almost 7 bucks will be ok. Of course that if your program is worth 10 bucks then... forget it. release it via the net.. and have the cd as optional (only and only if you really have something to put in the cd of course).

I had to work on some cd covers the other day just 300dpi but they had to be nice and tidy, now they are getting printed. (long story to tell) but I saved their butts once again

They offer to burn, stamp and ship your software with professional look to your customers for that price.

If someone is selling his software as trial download, now can add this option (buy a CD version) on his site and only pay to this company the CDs after the user buy it, no need to make investiments.

My own and humild opinion is that a lot of people that buy your trial_download version will buy TOO the CD version. I will try this service to see how well they work.

well theres about other 30 companies offering the same and cheaper.
professional look? - you'll really let them design something for your software?. I dont believe in that. as graphical designer I do everything by my own, thats true. Perhaps someone else would let a company do it for him..

I wouldnt.
Check out on the net, theres better deals than that one im sure.
And when it comes to games or big softwares.. you'll need a publisher, no doubt. (and they do take care of this things though).

I doubt they are using twenty-cent discs, if they are, you wouldn't want to use that service regardless of the price. You don't want blue discs.

I would not use that service, I would use CafePress which costs a tad more, but like anything you get what you pay for.

Heck, even if you were printing them up yourself after a few runs to the store for more ink cartridges you might realize its cheaper to use a service for that.

Do you want something that looks like a 12-year old threw it together in his basement with stick on labels for the CDs (which are NEVER perfectly centered and cause alignment problems on your drives), and jewel case inserts done with consumer-grade inkjets? I would prefer to pay for quality discs, with water-proof printing on the disc and with inserts & traycards printed on quality paper with commercial grade printers using archival quality ink. Not to mention CafePress and other services handle all order processing leaving me to do what I do best and code

However, I only write freeware, but if I was selling, I definitely wouldn't handle that stuff myself. Its too expensive and too time consuming. Been there, done that and learned that lesson the hard way back in the late 80's early 90's.

But who said about doing it yourself?
I meant the graphical design perhaps you got it all wrong...

I wasn't quoting and replying to you  I agree with doing your own artwork and sending that to the service to be used. :) Or in my case, since I have no artistic talent, I would hire an artist to do the work and then send that in to whatever service I was using, lol.

Well, nobody stops you to do your own masterpiece of artwork.

I was just sharing some possible tip for someone that is selling software online.

BTW the CD that they are selling (from one of his customers) are not bad at all.

But as i said, i was not trying to decide for anybody, just sharing some info ;)

This is a great tip, 7$ for full cd handling and shipping is a good deal (if you sell your program online, you will probably charge something like 10$ to get a CD version as well).

dragcrack: could you name some of other company which does the same for less ?
