how to merge rtf files in purebasic?
Hi everyone! I coded an app in VB that used the richedit control where I merged rtf by getting the rtf string for two files. I lopped off some tail characters from the first one (i think 4) and lopped off a bunch of header characters from the second (something like 42 or so) then concatenated the ...

jaPBe tip regarding folding
Hi folks, I just wanted to share a tip regarding the JaPBE editor because I didn't discover it easily myself. I love the editor but couldn not find how to create custom folding points, and could only fold on the ones created automatically by the editor. I wanted to hide large chunks of includes ...

thanks Lucky Luke
I took a look at your link re FPDI and I was surprised at the effort needed for that solution.... :( In another language I had captured an image of the pdf as a bmp and wrote on top of that (a less than optimum means but passable) and I suspect I will duplicate that using the manually captured image ...

any ideas on opening an existing pdf form and writing on it?
First of all LuckyLuke a BIG Thanks for this most excellent library and the help files and tuts included! This solves a great many report generating needs I am sure. In my case, I am trying to take an existing form (i.e. a government tax schedule) and write in figures on that form. I don't see how ...

want to write on existing pdf form - found purepdf but
perhaps I missed it in the tut's or the helpman but don't see how to open an already existing pdf form. The pdf_Open command doesn't seem to take a param for an existing doc, nor did I see an appropriate command? I suspect this is a stupid oversight on my part but any suggestions would be ...

freak, that rocks... Now, just one other thing ...
is there a way to save it without the dialog box coming up? The don't prompt option doesn't do what I thought, it puts up a dialog box, it's just the file name is untitled and the default path is more generic (My Documents) instead of the last used... What I am really hoping now is that I can ...

saving webgadget content as webpage complete
Hi all, I am wrestling with a problem someone may have solved already. In Internet Explorer there is a save option to save the browser content as web page complete which captures all of the images etc to local resources. I am trying to solve this with the webgadget. In other words, I load an url and ...

re: documentation vs. community
Hi: I am a newbie as well and just recently bought the product. I too was a little concerned because unlike some other environments that I have worked in I couldn't lay hands on a nice thick paper tome to consult. I still believe one would be useful, but from short personal experience I have to ...

re: convert back and forth string and numberical
Hi:
The confusion is arising because you need to do the conversion on items you grab as text to make them numerical to use in calculations. Then to put your result into text you have to convert that to a string... For instance in your code:
temp2 = getdgettext(#string_Fahr)
celcius = celcius ...

This community ROCKS! Thank you James!
I can't believe how quickly folks here reply to messages from a newbie, especially one with a big chunk of ugly code attached. Not only that, my cutting and pasting was an ugly job in that the indentions were lost and it was tough to read. Will do a better job by cleaning up in preview from now on ...

reversing a text file line by line - problem
Hello all! I am a new user of PureBasic and it looks to be a fantastic tool! I was converting an older project over and was implementing a procedure that would read a file into an array of text lines and write them out in reverse order. The procedure takes two string inputs representing the ...
