Why not? iPhone OS is Unix based and the SDK is based on gcc.

If you 'jailbreak' your iphone there is an unofficial cross-platform sdk. But to make apps you sell through iTunes, yes you need an intel mac to run Xcode. Kinda sucks, but I just borrow a mac from a friend. No way I'd buy one =P

I'd use OpenExchange. AFAIK it is able to handle MS Clients as well.

Does anyone know some good free Groupware package for Linux (written in PHP with MySQL support would be nice).

I have tested a lot of free packages including "phpGroupWare" and "PHProjekt", but no one is perfect for my needs.

PHProjekt is the best so far, but it needs too much administration ...

Hmmm that's strange. It works here :/. 843 files and 12 folders, all out. But I think I know why. Notice that some files that are in use/hidden cannot be accessed and also, my code doesn't include empty folders and files. I'm sure that's why it failed to include all the stuff in the folder.

Shareware? I would call it commercial, at least I have paid $27.95 for it. It's very good though...

IMHO it is THE mobile - years ahead before competition... You can't really compare it to other mobile phones. You should get yourself a phone that's 3G, the iPhone is more Ali G.
3G, 3G, 3G... It has GPRS/EDGE/BLUETOOTH/WIFI and that's really okay for me now... I'm sure there will be a 3G device ...
