Probably not because my impression is that Linux users want everything to be free.

Shader model 2 lacks some crucial features like not being able to read from a depth buffer, not supporting multiple render targets, and probably some other stuff.

I'd personally like to raise the requirements to SM4, but I don't think we can do that for a while. Supporting SM3 does hold me back ...

Oblivion and Unreal Engine 3 are much lower-tech renderers. I don't know why people gape at UE3, it is about as advanced as the Half-Life 2 Engine. They didn't follow through with any of the advanced features they promised in the preview videos.

I got an email from AMD yesterday saying the problem would be fixed in the next driver release.

I updated the download to version 2.12. This fixes a few bugs that were introduced at the last minute, and makes it more obvious if OpenAL is not installed.

Your GPU is not supported.

I found out you actually have to install OpenAL on Windows Vista, you can't just include the DLL like I did. In the future, I will just include the OpenAL installer along with the SDK, to make it simpler:

Graphics drivers are very complicated nowadays, and developing them is an ongoing process.

Also bear in mind a lot of our technology is pretty new. Crysis and STALKER are the only engines I know of that do similar things, and they both have been released for less than a year. Because we are sort of ...

I made a mistake due to something with sound I added right at the last minute...I will have version 2.1.1 out soon, along with a patch for the demo and a new installer. Sorry about that!

Other than this sound error I brilliantly introduced right before release and AMD's driver error ...

Any way to get compiled demos without downloading the trial. I'd like to test a demo game made with it.
Isn't that what the trial is?

There is a small problem with physics/sound. I am not sure yet what is going on, but I will figure it out shortly.

The installer might do something with registry keys. My engine does not.

I don't know anything about crashing because no one has reported anything like that until now, but I will keep an eye out.

I am still looking for someone to write import code for PureBasic.

An evaluation kit is now available:
