It will simply kill the language.

Baloney. Exaggeration for the sake of exaggeration. It would change and everyone would, after a few incidents of screwing it up, adapt and move on.

I'm for it. The same as with blitzbasic. Mark intends to (if it ever gets released) change the \ to a . in ...

Did Fred announce something on this? I've seen a few posts referencing it, and a wishlist (it's been a while since I've checked the forum), but I can't find any post by fred saying anything about it.

Just curious if there was an official statement regarding it.

That's ok, the .NET runtimes are included to be included in the next XP service pack I believe. And in the next iteration of windows as well. I remember going through the same thing with people tossing hissy fits with each new version of visual basic too. Now the runtimes are included with windows ...

I own both... Along with Blitz (2D/3D/Plus), and Darkbasic (Pro and poop... ahem)...

Purebasic Pros:
Very fast and small executables.
Stable (now).
Friendly Community.
Gobs of libraries for gaming, network, etc
Very easy to learn and get up to speed on very quickly.

Purebasic Cons:

Were accounts wiped at some point? I had to recreate my account and since it didn't complain that my name was already in use, I can only assume that the board went down and the database was lost or something?
