How is progress coming on the next release?

Also, PB 5.0 Final was released, so do we need a new release for that?

Haven't tried to code anything in ages

Hey mate,

I've put the next major update on hold for the time being while I get a new product ready and released (desperately need an alternative income stream) so major update 2 probably won't be ready until sometime after Christmas unfortunately. The current version of ProGUI should work fine with the new PB 5.00 final but let me know if it doesn't. I'll try and get a small update ready this weekend with a few fixes and should benefit from latest VC optimizations that the new PB uses.

It's a Notepad replacement geared towards general users, there's a fair amount of competition out there but any amount of extra revenue it could bring in would be great! I'm adopting the micro payment model (which works very well in the app market) and selling it for $4.99 including 6 months of updates and support. Finger's crossed anyway :)

Oh yeah I remember you showing that off as part of ProGUI demos

I use Notepad++ myself. That is quite a feature-rich program and free, going to be hard to compete with

Yep I know mate, it's tough competition but I'm hopeful there's a market for the general user where as Notepad++ is designed for programmers. It's worth a try anyway lol at the very least I should have another product and website to showcase my work :)

Might get cross-business if you put some programmer-centric stuff in there all the same, and then base your products out of a single Software Label type site.

Good idea! that's what I was thinking too :) Once it's all released I should be able to work quickly on adding features (stuff like syntax highlighting for programmers etc) it's just a case of creating a solid foundation (and web platform) to build upon that runs smoothly and fully automated.

Hey Chris I am wondering if future versions of ProGUI will not be backward compatible to PB4, because too many changes have to be made, if so, I assume the DLL version will probably be ok though.
Anyway have a Happy New Year mate. :)
