Hi,

Max3D google code is open!

http://bmx3d.googlecode.com

Please visit if you are interested in helping out with development of the open source max3d egine.

Currently Missing:
* Skinned meshes.
* Transparency (just a single additive pass currently).
* Any LOD management (eg: terrains).
* Any occlusion methods (just culls surfaces to frustum/light bounds).

Also, shadows are currently very slow on 'old' hardware (well, by 'old ' I mean an nVidia 6600!) Hopefully, there's something I can do to improve speed here, but there may not be (or it may not be worth it). On newer hardware, shadows are nice and fast.

There's also a google group - please post there (or here) with any Max3D discussion, including how to get bmx modules going etc. Also feel free to fill Wiki page comments at googlecode with any useful hints or tips.

If your bummed out about any of this (as I suspect some will be...), please keep nasty comments to this thread?
