Windows CE compiler

I would love to see a compiler for the Windows CE /PPC 2003 platform with ARM support.

I would gladely pay twice of the price of PureBasic if that was included ;)
Think alot of other people would too, and it would deffinantly draw a huge crowd to the PB scene.

Wow, now you're talking. I'm programming Pocket PC stuff using combination of Embedded VB and VB.Net. A PureBasic option would be incredible, especially if it could work with Codebase (http://www.codebase.com)

I knew there were atleast one more here that would like that idea.
Personally I use eVB and VC++ for my PPC apps. Filesizes are pretty small too (if you don't count the runtime for the eVB apps) ;)

I think Fantaisie Software would make a nice bundle of $$$ if they added a CE compiler into this already fantastic package.

While we're at it, a version for the Palm platform would be good. I'm currently using OrbForms from OrbWorks (http://www.orbworks.com), but a compiler that did Windows, CE/PPC and Palm would be heaven, especially if it's as compact as PureForms.

Doesn't OrbForms come with a pretty big runtime lib?

It adds about 80K to the final program when compiled as a standalone, which isn't too bad, especially now most Palm machines have a minimum of 8 meg. It really is a nice development language though, even though it is C based.

8 megs?
Isn't that an old machine?
I bought my PDA last year. It's a Dell Axim X5 400MHz, 64 MB RAM and 48 MB ROM. Also has IR and bluetooth.

This is easier said than done. Porting PB to another platform is really much work.
The Linux version is developed since some time now, and still didn't catch up
with the Windows version. Until those are not really equal, there is not much
sense of starting off with another platform.

You might be right about it being alot of work.
Just posting an idea here :)

Anyways, by looking at the C++ header files for Win32 and CE, it doesn't look like there is alot of difference except the CPU, filesystem and window dialog handling. I might be wrong here so please correct me if so is :)

But if this came to life, it would be amazing for people who code for all the different platforms it supports. And it seems that more and more people are starting to use some sort of PDA nowa days and I also think it would lift the business side for PB to a much higher level commercial wise.

Both Windows and Linux versions are up-to-date (v3.81).
