Programmers unite against the word conspiracy!

As we all know, 8 bits is a byte. So how come 16 bits, or 2 bytes, is called a word? Just realize how stupid we really look. A word is two bytes. Are we so ignorant that we must bite twice to communicate? We can speak, right?
So why are we forced to call 2 bytes a word? Well, it's simple. Bill Gates and his evil Microsoft forced us to do it. I say it is time to stop calling the word a word.
So what are we going to use?
Sandwich.
Just think about it. There are people out there who only need two bites to eat a sandwich. As we all know, a computer can handle a LOT of data, very fast. A computer is kinda like the winners of those eating contests that made Japanese game shows so popular around the world. So calling two bytes a sandwich makes a lot of sense.

So programmers, unite! Let us no longer look like barbarians! Let us no longer bite to communicate! Share a sandwich instead.

Oops! Time for my medicine...

LOL. :)

Bytes into a Big Endian Sandwich (which end first, though?) and contemplates a long Sandwich (Sub?) and a double Sandwich (Dagwood?) - always knew they were different.
