Retrocomputing on a modern HTPC

When I recently unearthed some of my old floppy disk boxes from my software archive, I naturally wanted to know what was inside. Among other things, I came across some floppy disks that apparently contained various games for DOS, which a former classmate had given me years ago. I'm definitely not a gamer, my interest was never strong enough for this. However, curiosity has occasionally led me to check out and try a game or two. So I thought I'd see if they also run in DOSBox installed on Linux. Since my machine doesn't have a floppy disk drive, I had to buy a USB-FDD for ¥5,570 ($35.45). After installing two of these old games, everything, including the sound, worked perfectly, which surprised me greatly. Furthermore, there are also many free DOS-games available on various websites online. Sometimes it can be fascinating to see what things were like a few decades ago.
