Question about MIT license

"the authors are not responsible for damages"
Can a program with such a license have a virus in the program and the waiver of damages completely releases from liability in this case?
Or does it mean everything except clearly proven damage, which cannot look like a bug in the code?
I'm interested to know if there is a law preventing intentional acts of harm. If so, the community will take advantage of these features, and people will be less wary of free compiled products.

This maybe depends on the territory, meaning where on the earth you're use the program. In most countries a crime is a crime and no contract is able to remove your liability to that. Also immoral contracts are often simply invalid.
