Please don't smoke!

I lost my wife, and our daughters lost their mom on New Years Day last year. Cigarettes had a hold on her that we couldn't break. No one, including Jennifer, knew she had lung cancer. We thought she had pneumonia. Even her Primary Care Physician was shocked. It progressed to stage 4, and metastasized to her pulmonary artery very quickly. I have never smoked, so I have no experience in trying to quit. I believe it is much easier to just not start.
So, for the people you love, don't start. If you do smoke, try to quit.

Hi Rich,
I'm very sorry to hear that. My true condolences to you and your family! Cancer is a bitch, fuck you cancer!
I must ask: Why do you tell us this now? No need for you to justify yourself to anyone, but I'm worried about you!

No need to worry, I'm fine. I thought it was important to share a personal anecdote about why I feel the way I do. I must admit, I do find myself losing concentration on things. Probably just old age!

Really sorry for your loss Rich. Smoking can be very hard to quit, I was in the hard basket for years until I was prescribed Zyban, if people can tolerate its side effects it makes it really easy to quit. After a couple of weeks you just wonder what am I smoking as you get nothing from it what so ever and you just spontaneously stop.

It's interesting that it's a fact they kill people and it's a process much like alcohol and opioids to get off them, but you can buy them in every gas station and grocery store in most countries.. Even super-rural places in the Baltics and Siberia..
I've smoked before I know it's a nootropic and it relaxes people with dopamine but it's like one out of a thousand people who do it long term without dying from it or at least going through nasty chemo cycles..

It's the same with sugar and unhealthy food in general. It's hard to stay healthy.

But at least chocolate tastes good

With smoking I've always struggled to understand how people start

You always wonder that, then you try it. It's more commonly vapes, not cigarettes, at least with people around my age, but you get one once, and at first it doesn't feel good. It stings like hell, and you wonder how anyone could ever get addicted to the stuff. But you already bought it, so may as well strap in. By the time you finish that first pod, for a lot of people that much nicotine exposure is enough. It's scary and I do not recommend it.

Sorry to hear.
Addictions are plentiful and based on our animal drives for survival.
It is unfortunate for the few that are predisposed to the self destructive activities.
They will have a lifelong battle to resist the innate programming of our DNA.

Quitting smoking is definitely one of the hardest things to do. I had a close friend who struggled with it for years, trying everything from patches to hypnosis. What finally worked for him was switching to vaping, and after a while, he was able to lower his nicotine intake gradually. It wasn’t perfect, but it gave him the control he needed to wean off smoking.
For those looking to transition away from cigarettes, I’ve seen a lot of people have success with certain vape brands. A lot of them
recommended Vozol as an option, especially for smoother nicotine reduction. It might be worth looking into.

I ALWAYS asked to ppl who REALLY stopped smoking (YEARS) how they did it
ALL told me one day they decided to STOP, and did it "ABRUPTLY" (no diminishing daily cigarettes, no patches, no vapes…) just STOP
Weird P.S.:
Very recent scientific studies say nicotine helps fighting (some) BAD virus infections…

Smoking reduces the chance of getting Parkinson's and can ease the symptoms.
Smoking is many times worse than Parkinson's so I would be crazy to start.
Smoking is evil.

I'm not a medical doctor but give it as my informed opinion that it's safer, easier and more effective to use Ivermectin or Hydroxychloroquin for treating many viruses.

it's worth noting that nicotine not only has zero to do with cancer, but it's a long-proven nootropic and stress reliever. Industrial tobacco products are dozens of poisons that have nicotine in them, and for some reason you can buy them everywhere legally..
I actually smoked for over a decade. It was the strongest filtered cigarette you could buy in the EU and US. FYI a pack of Marlboro Red bought in the Baltics isn't the same as the one you'll buy in the US. Good luck finding out why..
It takes around 90 days to quit smoking after you've done it for years, and you'll have an attitude and cold sweats.. It's basically like heroin and meth..
You don't wean off addictions you stop and months later you're used to not doing them.. I remember the process vividly.. It's designed to not be easy.
